New Covenant Community Church: Called to be a bridge connecting God to people, and people to God.

Hebrews 10:23-25--"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another all the more, as you see the day drawing near." NAS. God is drawing people together everywhere in this city; He is encouraging covenant relationships, among people who know each other in some way. Our name certainly fits that description at this time, for we are involved in many gatherings here and other places where the saints come together. We are New Covenant Community Church because we are sons and daughters of God partnering in our congregation and with other in different congregations in this nation and even in other nations. We take light into the darkness.

We as a congregation shared and participated with other congregations in the scripture version of "Creation Through Music and Song," written and directed by Tamara Albrecht, a Professor of Sacred Music at Emory. She has shared her musical gifts with us before. Pastor Ann and Pastor Marty were narrators of the scripture. Ada and Charles T were part of the choir from different churches. The children from our congregation and others put the story into action. The word said "Let there be Light and there was!" Tamara has been in a battle with cancer; pray for her.

We as a congregation gathered together to bless Patrick B and Megan L as they anticipated their wedding day. We were all blessed to share the food, the relationships new and old.

Many brought gifts. Both families were blessed. We can now say congratulations to the newly married Patrick and Megan B, May the Lord bless and keep you!

Kairos Transformation Ministry and the Georgia Apostolic Network called a Prayer Gathering at New Covenant; Apostle Jacque Tyre is the director of prayer over the state, and part of the National Prayer Network. There was a large attendance. The gathering began with a light supper. Many churches participated. Testimonies were given, worship happened, and prayers were prayed. Rabbi David Schiff sounded the shofar and he said "New Covenant has been the launching pad in this city for first time events." We are in a season of aligning together in covenant relationships because many are going through battles, together with God. Our prayers will be heard. The next gathering will be in Savannah, Georgia. Prayer gatherings happen at the state capital every week.

Members of New Covenant meet every Wednesday morning at City Harvest for prayer. Thursday morning we gather at New Covenant at 10:30; people from other congregations participate. This is a season of new birth and the women of the congregation gathered to pray one Thursday night because of a birthing dream Rose M had which verified the new birth season. We are entering into new alignments and assignments; the way is narrow but God is taking us on a new path and soon our new building will begin.

Ricki Lee and others on the Session are preparing the way toward the beginning of the new building. The basic plans are still on display. We met to discuss the plans. Continue to pray that the ground will soon be broken for this building.

A new season began September 9 for our Academic Kitchen with our children’s ministry director, Sarah S. The children are coming from 5.00 P.M. every Wednesday evening until 7.30.

The first part of the day is helping with homework, then prayer, then supper. The remainder of the evening they have Bible Club. People are needed to help with homework. One Wednesday a month will be a dish night, bible teachers are also welcome. The first, "Official" Wednesday session we served dinner to more than forty people children, parents and helpers. This participation will no doubt grow. Help is needed!

Sarah and Pastor Marty have actively participated in ministering to families whose children were involved in an accident. More parents are attending church. Pray for Cristobol who has advanced leukemia also for Kason who was touched by the hand of God as he prayed, he has sickle cell anemia. Another way you could help would be to put food in the food barrel at the front door. There are families in the church who are without jobs and cash who need food items. Suggested items are: cereal, dry milk, canned goods, soup, tuna, stew, macaroni and cheese, other non perishable food, apple juice, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, cookies..

Finn Larsen, Executive Director of the Christian Association International and a member of Harvest Network gave an over view of how our schools are a mission field, ripe for the harvest. We are all full time missionaries. The constitution allows us to expose our beliefs. Encourage and help to equip

Christian educators to make an impact in our schools. We gathered after the service to have lunch together and discuss how we can bring about legal freedom in schools.

New Atlanta Fellowship gathered at New Covenant on a Friday evening and Saturday morning for teaching and ministry. Michael Barrett led the teaching and Pastor Donn Thomas led the worship. There was prayer and the message was that God wants the fathers and mothers to rise up as they are, "Sons of God," because we all are to have a genuine relationship with Him. New Covenant has a vital role to play in this area and even in the city to bring the kingdom in covenant relationships. There needs to be a break through in our thinking and understanding. We are small but we are in a time and place ;to make a big difference. This same word was spoken at our Sunday morning service. We have begun with our ministry to the children we need to recognize the authority we have been given to Train up the Sons of God in the next generation.

It is a new wine skin and a new day enter into the new, let repentance happen so we see we are called to a divine mission, in this place. Do not look back but proceed to go forth. Yes we are at ground zero, we want the explosion of God’s work and kingdom to be manifest in this place.

We offer our sympathy to Ken Smith On the recent deaths in his family.

As we enter into the new birthings and gatherings that are happening, remember we want to glorify His name! LET GO! And LET GOD!
